The first part of your appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Generally, treatment can be initiated on the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your referral slip
- A list of medications (and dosages) you are presently taking
- If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary subscriber information, including your insurance card (if applicable). This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims quickly.
All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)
It is generally not necessary for you to bring any previous x-rays prior to your appointment, as part of your consultation will include digital x-rays of the area to be evaluated. The digital x-ray system reduces the typical radiation exposure from x-rays by approximately 85%.
